This forum has helped me numerous times on papers and I owe all of those who helped a thank you. Now I have one final paper(for this class). This one is supposed to be a "Surprising yet informative essay". Basically, I have to talk about stereotypes of war and then give a different perspective. Sort of like "this is how you used to see it, but now look at this approach". I'm leaning towards first talking about pros and then the cons as the surprising requirement(just because I know numerous sources so it'll be easier). Please post any ideas you have here. As always, thanks a lot.

  2. Stereotyped Approach:

War is something that people enter into by neccessity to protect their way of life.

    Your Approach:

War is something that people enter into voluntarily to enhance their way of life.

  3. I would think that war could be defined, in its essence, as a conflict between two or more sides. Now I am not saying polar opposites as sides, but rather looking at, without sides, war can't exist. The surprise is that "sides" can exist in one individual. Moral choices comes to mind. We do it every day.

From the individual, and their choices, you can explore how sides develope and can grow to become full world wars like in the prior century. Whether these are military conflicts or, for example, the war on drugs is up to you of course. I mean war can be waged on a football field or the battle field.
