Hi all, I've already asked that somewhere but I didn't get any answer so, please, don't be shame
I've got the 0.952 version of this plugin for Vs7 and I've tried it frame serving to tmpgenc 2.520. All seems to work but I found that in this way it double the encoding time!
Twice as long as a, i.e., a frame serving with avisynth (the very same .avi which I copied in my hd first, just for test, don't worry) which takes only a little more than a "natural" encoding (w.o frameserving).
Also, (using both the wizard or the manual trick to find it out) I discovered that the field order in tmpgenc changes if I frameserve with this plugin.

Do you have the same problems?

I haven't used the plugin myself yet, but I was recently discussing it's performance with a friend who had. His first remark was that it significantly slowed down the rendering. The renderer (in this case Mainconcept) was not getting the data fed fast enough from VS7.

He didn't mention the field-order change but from memory I think you can manually change the order in the VS7 project settings.

BJ_M: no, it's the one from videotools, the "ulead video server plugin". Now they have updated with the 1.0 version, maybe there are some improvements. I will give it a try, but I don't think things will change a lot.
At the same time I will try the Pluginpac Frameserver during the week end, I see it's freeware. Thanks.

bunyip: about the field order, there isn't really a problem with it, because you can change it both with VS or Tmpgenc. It was just a consideration, because that thing it's quite weird to my newbie eyes (I realise it now it could be a problem with cce, i.e., where you can't verify the field order "on the fly" like in Tmpgenc - or at least I don't know how to verify w.o. having to burn a test -).
