  1. Can the AIW 128 (non pro) use the Catalyst drivers.
If not can anyone tell me the latest drivers that will.
I got MMC 8.1 to load and work but I have to run the tv 3-4 times before it will come up.
I figure it is the display/capture drivers. Anyone have any suggestions? LordSmurf?

    Thanks,

jbirdg...I also have an AIW 128...how in the heck did you get MMC 8.1 to work?? I can't even get it to install, let alone work! Which drivers did you use?

  4. Hi mastersmurfie,
I left the drivers I had working with 7.6. Uninstalled MMC and then followed the instructions and bats for loading 8.1 found here.
    http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?s=fae4117f0454e73534605a95594c6ca0&threadid=33710106
The post is actually for 8.8 but you can modify the bats for 8.1

The tv didn't install but when I re-ran the install it gave me options and I selected tv and it installed.
I got a msvcrt.dll error when running tv and found this:
    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=702950&highlight=msvcrt+dll#702950
    So I loaded tv-capture-wdm-6-14-01-6178v1.exe.
When my pc rebooted I had to reload my original drivers.
msvcrt.dll error is now gone. Only problem I have now is when I start TV it usually just sits there with the MMC 8.1 splash screen.
I have to kill it and restart it several times and it will finaly come up.
When it comes up it works great.
I am going to try some other drivers to see if I can make it work better.

    Will let you know.

  5. Thought I would update in case someone cares.
Ok. Loaded some new drivers and made things worse.
Now back to "atimmc caused error in msvcrt.dll and will be closed"
I know it will work because it has it just needs some tweaking.
    Currently I have:
    AIW 128 NON-PRO
    Display driver: 4.13.7192
Capture driver: wdm bt829 pro video capture 9/22/2001 6.14.01.6178
    MMC 8.1

If I reload the wdm driver the msvcrt error goes away and TV will work intermitanly (better than nothing or MMC 7.6).
Tonight I will try different versions of msvcrt.dll.
Unless someone else has a suggestion

  6. In case anyone is interested.
MMC 8.1 WORKS on ATI AIW 128 (non-pro)!

Here is how I got it to work on WIN ME.
Load MMC 8.1 using bat files and instructions from previous link.
Load tv-capture-wdm-6-14-01-6178v1.exe (may can use other version)
Do not let it reboot after finished. Reload Display driver (WMER1284137192.exe) and then reboot.
Win ME will find and reload all drivers.

At this point if you run ATI TV it will stop at the MMC 8.1 splash screen.
The work around is to load something else at the same time you load the TV and it will come up every time.
I actually can even just drag an window around while it is loading and TV will load no problem.
Captures and everything else I have tested work great with great results.
