However I refuse to watch this show..........these girls just act like whores all the time. Always talking about how they arent getting sex that night. I mean come on......have some standards. You are on national television.
But I do agree that they aren't the prettiest girls.......however I would date one of them.......come on they are worth millions.......thats a dual processor board and a lot of other goodies.

Give me the Hilton twins any day. MMM.... Blonde twins and in line to inherit a fortune.
Either that or the Olsen twins, they have a $600 million empire. -
This reminds me of MTV's "Sorority" and "Fraternity" shows. All the girls were BOTH stuck-up AND ugly. Talk about losers. And the guys were all tools. Both are BS series, not at all representative of Greek life, at least not where I went. Our guys were cool to hang out with and our women were hot, hot, HOT!

I'm not a real big fan of MTV anymore though, they don't play much local Australian music or the type of music I like. But hey, if Justin Timberlake or Christina Aguilera is your type of music I'm sure MTV is great. -

I learned English because of MTV Europe.
In Europe MTV started in 1987 and for 5 years was an okey channel. In 1992 - 1996 was still watchable, but then some suits decided to split the paneuropean service to local ones.
That was the end for the european MTV...
Since then, MTV in europe means "US Music Covered". It doesn't air european music, only US imported stuff, like Country Rock, Hip Hop (rap/ rnb / soul, etc) and some british pop and britpop artists. In 2000, turned "mainstream audience" channel. Today, you can watch reality shows, documantaries, plenty magna cartoons (in Germany for example, Cowboy Bebop aired from MTV Germany...) or old comedy series (for example: MTV France airs ...Adam's Family).
There are ofcourse those thematic MTV channels on some countries: MTV Hits (UK teen's music mostly), MTV2 (alternative rock made in USA mostly...), MTV Base (Rap and Soul from US, speed garage from UK). There are also VH1 and Vh1 classic. VH1 is like "E! Entertainment" with music. VH1 classic is a non stop video channel, with british and us hits from 70s, 80s and 90s. Unfortunatelly, they air only hits with success in UK and USA, not Europe. For example, you never gonna watch Falco in this channel (huge success all around europe in mid/ late 80s).
Germans had once their own VH1, today they have MTV2Pop. It plays some european stuff, but only from the pop site. The last 5 months, it has also shows like Big Brother and plenty cartoons (magna of course...)
Italians only recently (one month) presented 2 music channels: MTV Hits Italia (with italian pop, worst UK's...) and MTV Brand New (non stop new hits). MTV Italy from the other hand is a general channel, with news, football matches and plenty cartoons!
That's MTV today in Europe.
In the meanwhile, there was for 4 years that amazing MTV Southeast Asia. It was like MTV Europe in late 80s, but almost 10 years later... Unfortunatelly, in 2000 they split it too.
Nowdays, we expect MTV Africa. It would be a panafrican channel. Who knows what this gonna air (maybe Country from US? Or BritPop from UK? I'll be suprised if there be any african music at all on that channel...)
Just to add, that in middle east, they receice a variation of MTV European (not Europe, there is not MTV Europe after 1999) with local inserts. Have you ever heard arabian music?
And the most funny MTV of all, is MTV India! We talking real funny stuff there... It is not only the music (we all know the current indian music...) but the overall presentation. This channel also has the best VJ ever on any MTV. It is called Malaika and she is Exotic hot! Pretty short also, but who cares....
And here ends my report for MTV in Europe, Asia and Africa -
I watch Punkd and Viva la bam also. My favorite punk'd stunt has to be the justin timberlake one...they almost made him cry.
In viva la bam, I loved how he sent his parents to atlantic city and "remodeled". -

It was a cool channel way back then...music videos played 24hrs a day, with only 2 commercial time-outs within each half hour.
On Weekends, they aired a concert for Saturday evenings, and on Sunday late evening, a hal hour in-depth Interview with an Artist, that they called Liner Notes.
They played a very big variety in the early '80s - a lot of British and Aussie music.
I was really into a lot of the Aussie stuff then - The Sherbs (AKA Sherbet/Daryl Braithwaite), Divinyls, INXS (don't laugh, they used to be cool), Goanna, Icehouse, Midnight Oil, etc
Also loved Mi-Sex fron New Zealand - those were the days when music videos were fun!
Luckily, I had a VCR from 1979 on and was recording most of it in those years...which may have some historic value now, since a lot of it hasn't ever aired since then.
What was really cool, was there was no graffiti or logos all over the screen during the videos and it was availble in stereo.
Those were my high school years.
I started losing interest around 1985, when they were becoming more commercial/mainstream and going in other directions, but I tuned in to 120 minutes when they started that around 1986.
These days, I get -
MTV & VH1
MTV2
MTV HITS
MTV JAMS
MTV SPANISH
VH1 CLASSIC
VH1 COUNTRY
VH1 SOUL
VH1 MEGA HITS
Plus 45 Music Choice channels
I don't watch any of them
When I take the time out to listen to music or watch videos, it's usually something from my collection of Cds, DVDs or videocassettes.
I probably would have more interest in those channels had it not been for the Internet though
BTW...MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon and the Showtime Networks are all owned by the same company. -

back in the day ('81-84 or '85), every time he'd come home on leave, he'd go out and stock up on blank VHS tapes, and tape MTV non-stop for a couple of days, 6 hour blocks.
then he'd go back out to whatever air base he was stationed at, either at home or abroad, and have a lending library of MTV to share out with his fellow soldiers.
I need to call him and see if he still has any of these - get some of the early ones from him and take myself back to the days of 1982....
I should also break out some of the MTV Asia tapes he sent me from his stint in Korea about 10 years ago - see if they were already Americanized at that point, or if there's some good regional stuff on there.- housepig

Rookie, you almost listed my entire CD collection - grew up in NZ an Oz, so was also a keen fan of Mi-Sex (People, Computer Games, etc) and all the others you mention.
Most of the stuff you list still gets some minor airtime on our MusicMax channel here, during flashback type programs.
Other than that, MTV Oz is very ordinary and Channel V is marginally better."speed's just a question of money. How fast can you go?" - Mad Max, 1979 -
I found out which one is Hilfiger. The other girl is prettier. I think the Hilton sisters are worth 5 billion. The Olsens are approaching 1 billion. Hilfiger's networth is around 300-500 million.
As far as MTV, I like their sunday night stew lineup. Punk'd is the funniest. Then Wildboyz. then Viva LaBam. -

They just issued the Computer Games (which is actually the Graffiti Crimes album retitled) and Space Race albums as a 21 track single CD over here last month.
Other than that, there's been a best of compilation CD available as an import, which I bought a few years back.
I'm still waiting for the Where Do They Go album to be issued on CD - which happens to be my favorite...with the title track and The Stranger In You being the tracks left off the compilation (figures)
I think Castaway got the most airplay here - but Computer Games is probaly best remembered...more so as a novelty.
Too bad, 'cause they were really good.
Also a shame Steve Gilpin tragically died young in '91 -

USA Network had some good stuff too on their weekend show, Night Flight - they used to show all the stuff on there that MTV banned, due to content...nudity and stuff MTV viewers found offensive -

Late to the topic, but I find the best music on my DirecTV dish. No commercials, no network programming and the fact that the TV is blank while the music just flows.. good stuff all.
