I need some suggestions for good software to consider for what I am trying to do. I've some MPEG2 files that I want to put on a SVCD, and was using Pinnacle 8 until I found out that it doesn't support playing chapters back to back, only one at a time. Which to me is rather moronic. I downloaded the trial of Ulead DVD Workshop, but I couldn't make one single disc with that since any attempt to move away from the first screen causes the program to crash. So, I guess I'm not going for that one.

I know there are a lot of freeware products, but I honestly at this point no longer have the enthusiasm to burn a hundred discs trying to find just the right settings, or to use 20 apps to perform what one commercial one can do. All I want is 6 mpeg clips on an svcd, with a menu for scene selection, and the possibility to play all chapters back to back. This does not seem like something too unreasonable.

Is there a software product you could recommend for this purpose? Preferably not Ulead... I know the site has a software section and I've read through it, but it seems somehow incomplete...I was hoping someone might have something positive to say about some product I haven't heard of/tried/owned.

Are you referring to your files as chapters ? That's not the usual definition.
Chapters are points within a movie.
You could glue all the files together into one and then make chapters in that.
