    i have video studio 7. i tried to convert an avi file to dvd and get no video while playing in windows media player.

    the avi file original properties are audio mpeg layer three and video avi divx3 codec.. it played in the video studio fine but to test it in windows media player it wouldnt play the video just sound played in windows media payer


    i converted it to ntsc dvd 4:3, 720*480, 24 bits,field order A,8264 kbps constant, lpcm audio, 48khz, stero

    do i need dvd codec for windows media player? if so where can i get them from? does WMPlayer play dvds with the right codec?

    Yes you need an mpeg-2 codec. There is a free one in the tools section or you could download and install the trial version of PowereDVD. This will install a suitable codec which should still work with WMP after the trial version has expired.
