I upgraded my machine from 256 by adding 512MB. The memory is fine and applications like Sonic MyDVD seem to utlize the extra memory. But TMPGEnc seems to ignore a lot of physical memory and utlizes just a fraction of what is available.(During an MPEG2 DVD rendering session, the peak utilization was 289MB.
Is there a way to instruct TMPGEnc to grab the extra memory. I would assume the extra memory during rendering will speed up the rendering process(atleast to a certain extent)

Although I suspect if TMPGEnc isn't using the extra memory, it doesn't need it.

CPU is the main usage, not RAM

Thanks for the info guys
I figure it is heavily cpu intensive and hence memory will not buy me much. -

Will the multi-threaded setting with prefetching of video on a single-CPU box have any positive effect on the performance(will the rendering session be quicker)
