  1. Can you run DVD2SVCD without CCE or TMPEGnc?
    If you can't why?
    It seems to me bbMPEG does the converting anyway?

  4. bbMPEG is used in DVD2SVCD to do the multiplexing (including adding the change CD pictures etc.. if you select that option).

    It doesn't actually do any of the encoding - for this you need the audio encoder/transcoder (BeSweet) and one of the video encoders.

    I've read somewhere that bbMPEG is one of the best apps to use for multiplexing, as it produces truly compliant MPEG streams (as in compliant with the (S)VCD standards).

    However, the encoder in bbMPEG is not as good as CCE or TMPGEnc - otherwise we'd all be using it!

    After doing a dozen svcds it funny that I couldnt find or atleast understand the help files to answer my qustion.
