Could these prices be mis-printed?
Ritek 4X, 50-spindle for $49.99, 100-spindle for $59.99
They're cheap even if they are G03 instead of G04 ! Has anybody bought these before?

The price on the 100 spindle must be a mistake. Better order some before they notice.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -
I just tried to order 100 pack but it said "sorry the item is sold out or there is a stocking error".....too bad
-
WOW! Get this guys! I placed the order for the 100pak as stated; earlier today. When all things were processed, the final receipt said "50pk" not the 100pak.
So I called customer service. It took awhile, but they admitted to a typographical error on the webpage and said they were going to change it!
The sad news was thay they would not honor my order due to THEIR mistake which they freely admit! I told them to cancel the order then! They said they would and that is that!
I guess I won't do business with them again due to the principle of the matter. No customer support for a mistake they admit to! -
Hmm, looking thru the list I see 3 Ritek DVD-R's, any one know the difference between these?
Ritek DVD-R 4.7G Single Sided Write Once Media 50pk, Model DRD47-RD-SM - OEM $49.99
and
Ritek DVD-R 4.7G Single Sided Write Once Media 50pk, Model DRD-47-4X-RD-IW - OEM $59.99
and
Ritek 4X Speed DVD-R 4.7G Single Sided Write Once Media 50PACK, Model DRD-47-4X-RDSM - OEM $59.99
Thanks in advance. -
They are bastards, I was selecting a mini case, and before I was ready to buy it, they change the price!!!
It was like 10:00 AM central time. I email them but they can't do nothing. They are too busy with all their customer, they don't care if they lose one or two.

I'm kinda surprised!
I could see them not wanting to make good on the price mistake, but it's their fault and they should though!
As for price changes, yep that happens and you end up paying the current price showing on the website when you check out.
WATCH the prices! Rarely does it occure while I am buying anything, but your shopping cart reflects the current price, NOT the price when you put it in the cart! I have put stuff in the cart on the weekend and came back Monday after I make a bank deposite and it has gone up or down in price, check my cart and the items price matches the sites.
This has saved me money a couple times, and other times I delete the item because it went up a few dollars.
In general though, Newegg is a great place to shop! I never had a problem with any order, I get it fast, and everything works perfect.
Only one time I had to RMA anything, it was a system board, it could have been my fualt it didn't work or it could have been DOA. I bought several types and it was like 4 months before used it. NO problem Rma'ing it, and I even got back a newer better one!
Thier prices and products are good, and I love the free shipping too. -
This is the first time I have seen anything bad about Newegg!
I am surprised. I would of written to someone there about both cases. I'm sure if the right person sees it there would of been a adjustment made.
I would also point them to this thread. I'm sure they wouldn't be too happy seeing this. It isn't worth loosing customers over small stuff like this. -
So if a salesman accidentally puts a $5 price tag on a car that costs $50,000 then by this logic the company should take a $49,995 loss for the salesman's mistake. That's silly.
If you don't want to order from Newegg because of something so petty then go elsewhere. But you're just hurting yourself because they have great prices and service.
I'm not affiliated with Newegg, but have ordered from them many times over the years. -
not to mention, if you ever read the agreement when you order from any store online, you'll see that they clearly state that they are not responsible for any typographical errors in prices.
-
Newegg has got to be one of the best places online to shop for gear available. Their prices are always competive especially if you consider that many of the items offer freeshipping and if you check closely they often have a link to a free gift ... like a very attractive ball point pen, or a black T-shirt, or a black hat, or a wheel mouse for a penny, etc. None of the free gifts look like junk when you get them either. If you place an order with several items you can break it down to several orders so you get a gift with each order too! I order thousands of dollars of computer gear each year and it's the only place I shop. Well ... almost. Somtimes I go to Mwave.com. But on NewEgg you can see a picture of each item and what it includes, go to the factory site, and review feedback. If you want to see buyer satisfaction and feedback go the the reviews on each item and you'll see why they have such a good reputation. You won't find anyplace better online than Newegg.com ... and no, I don't work for them.

See you learn something new everyday.
As for customer satisfaction my uncle very well might have sold the dog cage at $15.99 instead of $159.95 except that the $15.99 price was actually WAY lower than our wholesale cost! In this instance I think our cost on that model dog cage was somewhere in the $80 to $90 dollar range.
So when such an error is made you really can't expect the business to honour the price. It just isn't fair. People are people and mistakes happen.

I also order lots of my stuff from newgg but I learn not to take their customer reviews seriously. None of my posts ever make it to the list. It seems like they filter out negative reviews?
-
I saw the picture when this was first posted, the picture for the 100pk typo item was that of a 50 pk spool.

I ordered a 100 pack of these expecting them to cancel the order but instead they changed the quantity to 50 and shipped them out without notifying me of the change. I probably would have kept the disks since they were still cheap at a 50 count, but the supervisor treated me and everyone else in this thread as if we were stupid/crazy like we all didn't see what we saw. Even after pointing him to this thread and emailing him copies of the screen captures I took "Which I always do when a deal seems to good to be true" showing the item as 100 count he still denied that it ever said a 100 count.
Anyways this was not a price mistake. The product number was for the 50 pack and always was, the quantity was changed and was done intentionally there is no reason to even be in product description column when adjusting prices.
THIS WAS A CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH
And that alone will make me never deal with newegg.com again no matter how good their prices are.

This was just a dumb@$$ mistake on their part, and while it'd be cool to get a deal, we all know it's the wrong price. Can't get mad at that.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Before you bad mouth NEWEGG, give their customer service a call again.. Believe me, they will jump through hoops for their customers... It's all in WHO YOU TALK TO!! I've had a sales rep tell me NO, and called customer service and they said NO PROBLEM! They are a great company to order from..
and for those who are wondering, I am ONLY a satisfied customer.. I have been purchasing computer products from them for several years. Even when I made a mistake or simply changed my mind about a purchase, they have taken the purchase back with NO restock fee, and have often paid for the shipping back to them. Talk about Customer care and service !!!!!
P.S. I asked about the ever changing prices, and they told me that their cost changes constantly, so when an item is purchased at a lower cost, they give us the break in price to reflect their cost. And when their "special buy" runs out or whatever, the cost may go back up... Give them a call. Customer service told me that they will honor any price changes from the last 48 hours.... Just need to email them or call them. -

I would also would like to believe this was a mistake and I would be more inclined to if they actually fessed up to it. Instead they decided to alienate me and act as if I/we were stupid an say that the quantity never said a hundred.
For those that believe in this company more power to you, but dont come crying when you actually have a problem with them.
With the kind of custumer support I got I would pay double before I ever
deal with them again. -
Sounds like they need more than a new inventory manager, maybe a few customers sales reps. Wow!
Note to self: do not buy from them, having not done it before.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Laws can also vary by state!
When I lived in Texas a chain store had a autospray paint gun marked $40, when I checked out with it the price was about $65. SInce at the time I was nearly broke and it took about 45 minutes argueing over it with the wife for $40! I was pretty ticked, and then spent about 20 minutes argueing with customer service desk over it. When they called up the manager he said give it to me for the price marked, it was the LAW and he set them straight, in MY favor! Course they quickly corrected the price on the rest of them too!
Newegg.com is a great shop though. I been dealing there for along time myself and very happy.
I'm pretty sure I can definatley say newegg ain't gonna bait and switch over some dumb item like disks. It was a simple mistake and was fixed. The fact they might preffer to lose a customer than to live up to their mistake is a shame. But that bait and switch claim is NOT the way they do business!
Also have you never seen the notice when you walk into a grocery store, Sorry the item pictured in sundays add was a mistake, 8oz can not 16oz as pictured. You want to stop eating? They ALL have done that at least once! Wall-mart, K-mart, Target etc... they all make mistakes!
And as others pointed out a obvious mistake like $50,000 car for $500 would not win in court, but a $50,000 car advertised for $45,000 probably would win in court. One is reasonable the other is not.
As for an expensive car being listed for bananas, I could see a judge forcing them to honor that! They run a stupid add like that on purpose then they should be forced to live up to it! And besides you have to admit we have alot of stupid judges making stupid rulings everyday anyway! -
How many people remember the Pepsi Points giveaway a few years agao. You may remember the commercial that has a Harrier Fighter Jet landing at the end for like 10 Million points.
Yep, some guy begged/borrowed/stole/bought 10 million points and wanted the jet. Pepsi couldn't actually deliver it, since it's military hardware. They settled out of court, and I think he actually got a ride in one with a Marine.

EDIT:Also if it was a newegg emlpoyee trying to pull a fast one over on the company to get a deal for themselfs he/she would have changed the price on the 100 pack not change the item description of the 50 pack to reflect a 100 pack because no matter what the item/stock number is always going to come back as the 50 pack and thats exactley what happened in this instance. But you never know there are some dumb people in this world.

As I stated before if they would have fessed up and notified me first I would have kept the disks
As far as the the car being listed for bannanas that cannot be considered an error, an error would be a 1 for a 2 or a 2 for a 3 a simple mistake or slip of the finger -
When you ordered the discs, through all five steps of their processing, it said 100 pack?
