Hello all, I'm in the UK and sometimes I would like to record the football while I'm working late, I've got an msi FX5600 vTDR 128 vivo card, I'm coming out of my sky box via a scart to S-Video adapter (cheapo), I'm just wondering what software I need to use, and what settings I need to use as well, at the moment I am looking at virtualVcr, it seems to capture fine, without dropping frames, but the picture quality is a bit cruddy, I think that's cos the svideo connector just fell out the back of the scart->svideo adapter. The other problem I think I am getting is with interlacing, I can't seem to check the video in power DVD 5 as it seems to crash the app, I was using IuVCR, but the video tab has disappeared so I had to stop using it, but video captured using IUVcr crashed Power DVD as well. I was told in a previous post to use Power DVD to check the video as it de-interlaces on the fly, so if it looks OK on that it will look ok on my tv.

I have the sky TV box set to output widescreen, what resolution should I set any capture app. to capture in for widescreen? it always looks squeezed to me. Do I have to set an input AND output resolution? Is it trying to capture at 720x576 and render at 640x480?

Hmmn, I've since found out that the input is 720x576 and the output is 768x576............

any help would be greatly appreciated.
