Well 2.5 working days after I sent them word that there was a problem, there is still no reply!![]()
THIS DOES NOT LOOK GOOD!![]()
Guess I get to live with the wrong disks, even though the invoice listed the correct disks.
Don't think I will buy from them again. I know I won't recommend them to anyone unless this gets resolved to my satisfaction. All I wanted was the correct disks. Not some generic disk, that was not inkjet printable, and stuck to the other disks causing damage to the recording side.

Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
-
you are not alone.....
my brother ordered what he thought was going to be 50 pack of dvdrw's for 50 dollars (a decent deal if you ask me)
well what did he get?!? 50 princo dvdrs! HA! they should be what only 30 some dollars!
not to mention that, but it took something like 2 weeks for the "free shipping" to make it
after reading all the "reports" on their business and the fact that shop4tech has been banned from here forever as a posting member id say its safe to say...
!!!DONT BUY FROM SHOP4TECH!!!! -
Didn't know they were banned
.
They are still a banner advertiser, thought it might be OK. Guess not. Guess I won't be clicking on any more of the ads either then. If you can't trust the ads here, then they are worthless.
I know, money talks...Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -
I only orderd from them twice. Once in March and once this month, about a week ago?
Both orders arrived fast and correct, and disks were fine.
I geuss I got luckily.
Course I ordered Leda/princos, not much else they could send.
I mean if they had messed up and sent Riteks or something it would not have actually botherd me much
My only complaint is I requested they send me some samples of other disks and I did not get any. Perhaps they just did not read the comments section of the order form or paypal payment, it was on both!
I'll most likely be ordering Riteks from Rima next time. I never orderd from rima yet, they good? I saw they were like $5 less on the riteks even after adding shipping costs. -
Is Rima an advertiser here? If so I'll wait for there ad and click on it. If not then doesn't matter.
I did send an email to steve@shop4tech and asked for some printable samples and if he could forward my complaint to the correct people. We'll see what happens, but I think I am going to order some more disk from someone else just to be safe. At least I didn't get screwed out of a hundred dollars of DVD. They were only CD's, but every dollar counts right now.
Though things other than this might be looking brighter soonHope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -
And in case they do screw me over
, I'm all set with a warning.
If they happen to be reading.... Remember Dazzle? This one is even better

i've ordered dvd-r's from shop4tech 4 times, and am totally satisfied with my experience with them
-
Now I'm starting to get the old run around. OK, you asked for it

sorry you are having such a hard time.... i love their shop4tech house brannd dvd-r's... they burn at 2x percect on my dru500ax, and i have never had a coaster
-
I've never had a problem with Shop4tech.
Order stuff from them all the time.Evil flourishes when good men do nothing. -
I've ordered from Rima before several times. Good service. I like their same day shipping policy so I don't have to guess when my order is going to get shipped.
-
I've ordered from shop 4 tech before. I got the ritek Go3s and dvd cases. The dvds cases were different from the ones that were depicted on their website; they changed the picture and didn't say anything. I called and complained and supposidly I get 10% off my next order. There prices are still higher than most places even w/ the 10% off. I bought from RIMA once and heard they have an excellent reputation. I recently bougth 200 riteks, which I received yesterday, from supermediastore. I am impressed with their quick shipping and the disks work great so far. They are currently running a promotion for 10% off Riteks. I bought the 200 spindle one and it came out to .85 per disk shipped. Good luck
-
I guess I also have been lucky. I have somewhere between 25 and 35 orders without a hitch. Sorry to hear of the problem. Resellerratings.com gives them a pretty low 4.21 score also, to bad I like the free shipping.

The only reason I tried them was because it sounded like they were trying to get the act together.
I also found out that the inkjet printable Matrix disks are only available in lots of 500. So no samples can be sent. I didn't care about non printable disks, so I guess I will get no samples.
Of to find Rima and maybe make an order.
Anybody want some unbranded, silver top, stuck together, 90 min, coasters? Guaranteed to keep your coffee warm for 90 minutes
If i'm lucky maybe some of them won't be damaged
On a positive note, sh!t4tech did manage to get the paper sleeves part right. So I have 100 nice new clean paper disk sleeves with window to see the pretty artwork I print onto the disksThat is when I get some from someone else.
So as was said previously... They were BANNED from the forums... DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!
PS, sorry 'bout the signature, I forgotHope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -
OK, something suddenly happened! I check me email, and what did I find... An RMA number from shop4tech. What else you ask... A ups electronic shipping label for the return shipping. Somebody said something, or they came and read my posts.
So for now I will remove the picture, and the line in my signature. Lets see where this takes me.Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -
Well glad to see you are getting some kind of action that looks on the good side so far.
Hopefully they were just slow in responding and it wasn't the fear of negative postings costing them business! But it was probably the posts
Course too, sometimes if a business is on the edge, slow is not much better than never anyway. -
@ galactica..if you search the posts on the forum, you'll see that there are just as many, if not more complaints on meritlines shady business practices then there are with shop4techs. Your brother had a bad experience....i'd just chalk it up...one bad experience doesn't make a site bad or shady. Just like one bad experience with APPLE disks don't make them bad. However, consistently bad results are the determining factor as to which sites are concerned about the customers.
It's clear that shop4tech is the ONLY company who has stepped to the plate and who has been precise with their promises of providing higher quality media over time as with their "Matrix" disks. They said from day one the formula would continue to get better and they'd spare no expensive to ensure it did..and they were truthful. The formula has gotten better and apparently will continue to get better. Several people have used the 3rd formula...and have posted that it's solid media. Some of those same people, myself included, have also used the first formula and know that's nothing more then plastic, circular garbage.
You mentioned shop4tech being banned....the reason they were banned was due to excessive spamming. The site policy strictly states spamming is not tolerated..and I absolutely agree with the decision. However, at least they have gotten their act together and are clearly working with customers.
Meritline has certainly read the COUNTLESS posts regarding their robbery of people's money for those HQ CRAP disks...yet they continue to sell them. Very reputable company they are...rima sells the same crap under the Xtreme name....and once again.....SEVERAL people have come forward saying the "LONG..TEN" media is the absolute worst they've ever used. It makes the bad Princo's look like Apple...it really does.
I have no bias for ANY of these online companies..I tell it like it is..always have..and always will...I just find it disturbing that those online sites can continue to rob people out of their hard earned cash for those Long..Ten disks...order some from meritline and Rima and find out yourself. Then let's see how you feel about those sites. -
ive had nothing but good experiences with shop4tech....
try and work with them and youll see.
i do find it funny though how people will complain that they didnt receive there complimentary sample pack of "MATRIX" dvdr' with there order.
they never promised this to anyone, yet people get upset when they request in there order and dont receive them.........
-
I can say I've ordered from all three (shop4tech, Meritline, RIMA) on different various things. So far I've had a good run with all of them Mostly I just purchased Ritek G03s, the only real bitch I have about any of them is Meritline never sends out shipping numbers to me unless I call or email them about it. Other then that Everything has always been groovy with all of them. Personally I just watch the prices more then anything else.

I'm not so much upset they did not send a few samples, but it would be good for business if they did so for repeat customers when requested on an order!
I would have tested the disks I requested over that weekend and if good would have ordered 100 or more on monday. Since I had no disks to test, they did not get Mondays order!
Since I never saw a printable, I haven't order them yet. Though it looks like I will order 100 from rima, was gonna do it already but been busy with other stuff and putting it off.
So basically $3 or $4 for disks (my cost, not thiers) to send me free samples of a few disks in with my order I already placed would have gotten them about $150 sale or more. Ordering 100 printable disks I would probably also ordered cases for them, so maybe $200 sale.
They don't have to send samples, but it is a good business practice to do so. Course I would not expect them to just send every NON-customer free disks just for asking, but when you ordered before, and you order again, they Know you ARE buying disks, not just looking for freebies, and they also KNOW you ARE buying from them already!
So $3 to keep a good customer comming back and ordering again is better than spending $10 advertising to gain one new custermer. -
As far as the samples go... I DO NOT mind paying for samples! Just make a damn sample pack! 5 of each or 5 of a specific brand would be great. % of each type of printable for one pack, 5 of each type for 1x, five of each type for 4x. Sell them for $1.50 a disk and not lose money. Would be very worth my money for testing. Then maybe give a small discount in the samples to get the customer back to buy 50 or 100 of the type they decide is best for them! I will gladly pay for samples. And would have ordered a sample pack, if they had had one. But they do not! At least not for the printable Matrix disks, that are only available in packs of 500! I think you would want a sample of those before buying!
ANd it is not always possible to place a phone call to these places about a problem. If they do not have a 24 hour help desk, sometimes you must use the web. And then to get a run around makes it worse. I was lucky and someone else helped me out! For that I am very greatful, certainly something they did not have to do for me. If this comes through correct this time, I will consider ordering from them again. If it doesn't come through correctly, I will blast them until they go out of business!!! F' me once, shame on me. F' me twice... your in trouble. Mistakes get made, and when they are handled quickly, and don't cost me any additional money, I have few problems. When they cost me money, then it pisses me off. If it is my mistake (ordered the wrong thing, etc.) then I pay for the exchange or keep what I ordered. This was not my mistake, and I was definately getting the old run-around. I've seen it enough to know what it is.Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -

But then again, with the compatibilty problems with disks, and the quality problems, I also don't want to buy 5 things that don't work to find 1 that does. If only 1 disk in 5 works, and I pay $1 each for samples, well that one disk cost me $5!
And is there really any garuantee the 100 pack will work anyway. Maybe 75 in 100 will be good and 25 will be coasters?
I did state what drive I have, so they should know more about what is compatible than me, being they sell millions of disks. How many 100 or 500 packs is that?
But like I say, they don't have to send out free samples, but it is good for business. I would have orderd more disks if they had. But since I can't print them yet anyway, I really am not in that much a hurry for them, so haven't orderd them. Though I would like to have a couple for testing.
Now I found rima costs me less, so I'll buy printable Riteks there, and they even have a compatiblity chart showing their riteks burn 2x on my drive!
So that being the case, not sending a couple free disks actually cost them about a $200 order. Not that I am upset I did not get free disks, just that I waited longer to order and now found another place to buy for less. -
I, against all of my good judgement and everything else decided to give shop4tech a shot (I'm a hypocrite). Anyway, I see these leda brand Dvd-r's for $.81 a pop for 100, with free shipping. I looked at the ratings and they are mixed. My wallet overruns my good judgement and I go for it and buy a 100 pack. After I click to finish my order, I learn (oddly enough this post mentions right off the bat that leda is princo) on the finish page that leda's are princo.
I WILL NEVER BUY PRINCO's, and if I did, they sure they hell wouldnt be at $.81 a piece, when supermediastore is selling them at .61 a piece for 100.
Anyway, I sent shop4tech this email:
I just ordered a 100 pack of leda media, however, after my order showed processed, I learned that they were Princo media. I will never purchase princo media, and if I do, it will not be for $.81 a DVD. Please let this serve as notice that I want to cancel this order. If I decide to purchase princo media, I will purchase it for $.61 per 100 with free shipping. They guys at DVDRHELP were right.
Now, my ranting here is not to get shop4tech into trouble, but it seems that after a person posts about their dissatisfaction on this site, something gets done. Might be perception or we dont hear about the 1000's who never have to take these steps.
Shop4tech, if you are watching, I'll make a deal, you give me the princo's at the $.61 with the free shipping and I will give them a whirl and not cancel my order (order request to cancel was made 1 minute after I clicked OK) and will report my findings back on this post. -
If they give you the leda/princo 100 pack for .61each, let me know! I want some too!
Those leda's are all I have been burning in my toshiba sd-r5002 and I have not had a coaster yet! They have played in my Norcent DP300 perfectly, and several other players too.
They only burn for me at 1x, so I am getting Riteks for daytime burning and the leda 1x for night time burning.
Some of my leada's are from March, and still work! However I only burned a few that far back. Nero burned disks I think are not playing on a DP312! I just played one that I burned with Tmpgnc DVD author and it worked perfect! So it's still a crap shoot what works!
Everything on leda/princos work on DP300
Same brand disks burned with Nero do not work on DP312, but burned with DVD author they do!
I did just order some printable 4x riteks, and printable cds from Rima this weekend. Once I get these I probably won't buy much else if they work good and look good after printing.
Too bad shop4tech hadn't sent the samples I requested on my last order,
took me an extra week or two before I orderd these, but this is the order I was gonna place at shop4tech back then. It wasn't the lack of samples that I ordered elswhere, it was that while I was looking for best disks, I found rima cost me less for the same riteks! Even after paying shipping.
Had I had the samples I requested, I wouldn't have been poking around rima!! -
As promised, I am including the thread of my conversation with the shop4tech folks. Short story is they cancelled my order:
Bobby : hi, how can i help you
macleod : Bobby, Last evening I purchased a 100 pack of leda dvd-r's, however, after submitted, it said they were princo's. I dont like princo's and I can get them a lot cheaper from other stores. I had asked to have the order cancelled.
Bobby : hold on
Bobby : can i verify ur name and address?
macleod : XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX<edit>. Also, I had made a comment on dvdrhelp.com about pricing and what not. I can send the url for you to review
Bobby : ok i'll go ahead and cancel it for you
macleod : do you send a follow up email confirmation?
Bobby : sure, you can send it to me
Bobby : nope sir
macleod : https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=180112&highlight=
macleod : I had added to this thread that I would give it a try based on the other pricing that I've seen for princo's and report back my findings if it was sold at $.61 w/free shipping.
Bobby : wow
macleod : wow?
Bobby : maybe that grade B princos
Bobby : there might be a lot grade B products out there
macleod : I look at princo's as princos. If gives me problems, they all do
macleod : OK, to confirm, my credit card will not be charged and this order has been cancelled. Please confirm
Bobby : yes
Bobby : confirmed for you and will be cancelled
macleod : OK great. Thank you for your time. I'll note this on the thread. -
I've purchased all my DVD-Rs from Shop4Tech. Had to do some testing with the 25ct batches. Got my RMA#, sent them right back, got my credit and then I'd order my next batch. Finally found my disc....RITEK 2x. Been buying the 100ct bulk ever since. I can order my things on Monday & it'll be on my doorstep by Thursday.....with Free Shipping!! Guess I'm lucky. My friends have same service.

Well UPS finally got the disks back to shop4tech, just thought I would keep things up to date.

Wow, this sunk down to the middle of page 2, lots of posts in this forum.
So here is where I'm at...
They got the package last Friday, and as of today I do not have the disks. I do not have a tracking number. I do not have an email from them. I do not have a credit to my bank account. I do have a confirmation via UPS online tracking that they have the package:

Monday they sent me an email that said they issued a credit to my charge card, and it should show up within a few days. More than a few days have passed, and it should have been shown by now. These guys are F'ing thieves, plain and simple
! They need to be run out of business
and DoS'ed from the web
Buy from these SOB's at your own risk!
