  1. I've noticed that the New Fuji's CDR's are being made in thiwan, not japan anymore, and i was wondering if switching to Maxells was a good idea, i hear goods things about them as DVDs (well at least i think i do)

Or should i just get some Printable Silver top Taiyo Yuden from rima

I burned my first maxells -99 and they are working fine today. I've never thought them as quality media (maybe less advertising) but they seem to be trustworthy.

  3. I think Maxell's CDR's are junk, do a search I think there was a discussion on these before and someone said they are made by CMC. I think the new Fuji's are the same as new TDK and Imation which are Ritek's(???) That's what it appears anyway, not sure. And Ritek CDR's aren't so great, not as good as their DVD-R's.
I think rima.com has the Taiyo Yuden's for $28 per 100. Or there are still some Fuji's around that are TY's...they're going away quickly.

  4. I personally won't use Maxells any more. But then it depends which burner that you have.

I have a Lite-On burner and it doesn't want to know about Maxell CD-R. However, my old Phillips one had no problems with them.

Not been good in years. I dumped a half spindle in the trash yesterday, got sick of the errors on burns shown after tested with Nero CD Speed.

    No more Maxell for me.
