DMR-e80h with VCR+/Dish Network

Okay fOLks, help me out a bit-

I recently purchased this and am very happy learned tons in no time, but I am having difficulties with one sigle feature of this great machine. I have Dish Network, & have not figured out how to record one thing without have to watch it at the same time...whats the point? I want to watch the news while it records the game, that type of scenario & have not been able to figure it out at ALL...any help would be very much appreciated any tips tricks or suggestions...

Unless you have two dish recievers, you can't record one dish program and watch another. You could record something off the dish while watching local tv from your rabbit ears or outside atn.

If you want to watch one dish channel while recording another you would need a seperate reciever dedicated for the dvdr. A simpler solution might be to go with the dish 721 which can record one program to its hard drive while you watch another. Then you could dub anything to disc you wanted to keep at a later time.
