After ripping the files using Smart Ripper, using DVD2AVI & TMPGEnc (I used the VideoCD (NTSC)mcf template) I ended up with a perfect looking MPG file that plays perfect from start to finish on my PC. However, after buring it to CD-R when I put it into my DVD player it was nothing but pixels & the sounds had bleeps. Any thouhgts?

What soft burn do you use? Do you use VCD template compliant?
What's your DVD Player Unit model?

I use Adaptec (I'm downloading Nero now) My DVD player is a Pioneer DV-525. -
I just burned the same file with Nero at 2x speed at it worker perfectly. The VCD played jus fine in my DVD player.
I checked out the 1st copy I burned using Adaptec & noticed that all of the folders on the VCD except the MPEGav and the VCD folder contained no information. I used Nero and all of the info was in the folders. Any idea why? -
Could be your CDR media. I had problems with certain blanks. Apparently, my player only expects silver discs. I tried several brands with different results and I finally settled on TY blanks. They work perfectly.

PS. http://www.getvcds.com reshipped my "seized" discs and they arrived this time without a hitch. I was very impressed with Lion King and Star Wars Trilogy. -
