Hi, i used DVDx to encode my DVD rip into MPEG1 format, but when i viewed the encoded movie, the video was very choppy, especially during the action scenes. What i mean by this is not that the video was lagging, but that the video seemed to have horizontal cuts or splicings especially in the center of the screen, and they got worse during action scenes. Sorry if this is not too clear, its a little hard to describe. Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions for things i may be doing wrong. Also if there is any other necessary information please let me know and i will post it. Thanks

I have a similar problem. I filmed with my DV-cam, edited in Studio7, and burned the DVD using Ulead DVD-factory. The tricky part is, that some of the videos (on the same disc!) have this jagged motion problem, but some don't!! I can't tell why this is! Anyone out there with the same problem?

I play the DVD on my Panasonic S75 player, and it shouldn't be the players fault. I must have erred somewhere else. The videos play nicely on a PC (from HDD or CD), but I haven't been able to try the DVD on a PC.

Could be a field order problem. Ulead products use the opposite Field ID than other programs. So it should not happen if you used Ulead exclusively.

Always check the video properties of imported clips and be sure those match your final encode (ie: Field A or B).

    Thanks for your quick reply!

Okey, I will have to check the forum what this means, but if all clips were converted with S7, then Ulead shouldn't change anything, right? And if so, then I don't see why it did.

Yep. That was me again. :c)

Just make sure the field order stays the same through all the steps right through to burning.

It may not be Field Order that's the problem. But seeing you use Ulead, I'd rule that out first then go from there. Check the final file's properties compared to your original source file(s) to see if they match.
