Hi,
I cannot get Virtualdub to capture at full NTSC resolution 720X480 or 640X480. It says Error 418: unsupported video format. Any ideas?
Thank you!

Don't sweat it. If you want SVCD, it should be able to capture at 480 x 480. And 320 x 240 capture can make a decent capture. If you must insist, you can explore the Conexant drivers to give you more versatility.
Hello. -
I had the same problem when I upgraded computers from win98 to xp. I never did find a solution and switched to virtual vcr (you can get it for free in the tools section).
The problem has something to do with vdub using vfw vs xp's use of wdm. Hope that helps. -
Twice in 1 day with the same answer.
VDUB sucks for capturing. It uses VFW(video for Windows, you know 3.11/95/98) drivers. Everything out there is WDM drivers. You need the WDM Wrapper for VDUB to get it to capture higher than 320x240. IUVCR will deal with the problem as well, 30 day free trial. To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan
