  1. Hello all

I wasn't sure where to post this, since it seemed to fit into so many categories....I've been trying to do this for some time now, and maybe you guys could give me a hand.

I've been trying to convert .PSS (PS2 format) to MPEG (or any video format, for that matter) so I can view PS2 Cutscenes/FMVs on my computer. THere are apparently several ways of doing this -- the one that seems to be the most logical was using the PSSplex program, but I got as far as .PSS to .MPEG2 and then got stuck. When I tried to use a MPEG2 to MPEG conversion program, it said the MPEG2 wasn't supported. Apparently the conversion process wasn't as clean as I expected.

I've also heard that every .PSS file is different, which makes things more difficult, however I know this is possible.

Anyone have any bright ideas on other routes to take, or what to do next?

If the program that could not convert the MPEG-2 to MPEG was TMPGEnc (it sounds like a familiar error), click here. Other wise, post what program you did use.

you could also try hooking your ps2 to a camera and then if you have a capture card try running that into your computer then editing them with whichever software you choose

  4. Yeah, it was TMPGEnc -- unfortunately my trial version has expired now...

But that's the error I was getting, so hopefully that solution will work as soon as I get the full version.
