    Hi Folks,

I've seen recommendations in here to author/edit the .VRO files from a DVD-RAM in TMPGEnc DVD Author, but my E50 seems to record the audio in AC3, which TMPGEnc will not recognise. Is there some internal setting in the E50 to change this, or is there another solution (preferably not involving pre-rendering, which degrades the quality).

  2. Panny E-50 and TmpGenc DVD Author user here. You can indeed edit recordings using this excellent software although you cannot actually hear sound in the "timeline" editing mode etc. Make a trial DVD on your HD and try playing it with WinDVD etc.

Many thanks, I've done as you suggested and the result is just fine. What threw me was tha lack of sound *whilst* editing, as the audio toggle icon rather suggested that I should be hearing something.

  4. I use NeoDVD Plus and change the vro extention to mpeg then import it into NeoDVD and it will create my DVD file set and also do the burn for me.

  5. Glad I helped.

Hopefully TDVDA will include full AC-3 support in a future release, it would certainly be useful but I have not found this a problem. For cutting out the ad breaks this really is not an issue.

The ability to read .vro has been a fairly recent addition and the software has had useful features added to recent updates (most recently more flexible menus).

  6. How does the e50 record in AC3 without a digital input? Is it just converting a analog stereo signal to a digital stereo signal? Obviously with no digital in for recording it cannont record tru ac3/dolby...

FYI, AC3 can be 2 channel stereo.
