I have copied a set of dvds from dvd9 to dvd5 using DVDdecrypter for ripping and Pinnacle Instant to reencode. They look great but the first 3 in the series wont show the sub menus on my dvd player. The tabs (of the submenu) show up when you can highlight them but not the back ground. It still shows the main screen.
The weird thing is it only does this on one of my dvd players, and only on the first 3 discs. My dvdrom and other dvd player which doesnt even play dvd-r that well, works fine. Is this a problem with the original authoring or maybe my dvd player (which is other wise 100%)?
-thanks

I have the same problem. I don't know how to correct that but I was told/read that when you compress from DVD-9 to 5 and edit the menus and what not they don't work anymore.

Hi,
I had similar problem with TMPGenc DVD Author and I fixed it with the Nero.
First I just created an nrg image file on the HDD with Nero.
Second burn this image file to the DVD-R disk.
This way I could solve any menu or submenu problem.
I hope this helps. -
I noticed in the Pinnacle copy settings that it was shrinking the menus quite a bit (around 60%) so I made a new copy keeping the menus 100% and it seems to work fine. Thanks for the tip!
