  1. Can a DVD-R/RW disc be used as blank media to save close to 4GB of svcd files onto a disc that can then be played back from a regular dvd player? I have several svcd saved files that I cannot seem to burn succesfully to a cdr or dvdr. The only thing I think I have gotten to work is a 30 minute clip to cdr but nothing more. I think I can chop a 2 hour video clip into 4 30 minute slices and burn to 4 cdrs, but I need to get more than that on one disc. My goal is to get as much dvd playable video onto as few discs as possible. I obviously want the best quality possible and I think SVCD quality is acceptable. I did not find any information on this site yet that as gotten me through this step. I have been struggling with converting my old tapes to optical media for a long time and any help with these last couple steps I need would be greatly appreciated. John

  2. I know very little about this, but try having a look into SVCD2DVD.

There's a whole forum dedicated to it - as the name suggests, I think it does what you're looking for.

If you can't get your files to work on CD-media though, I think you may have other problems. Compliance? Corrupted files?

    cheers,
