freezing start of film?

anyone had this - encoded and authored using svcd2dvd

three films

play first film and it plays intro for about 5 seconds and then loops back to the start - also does it on second film but doesnt on the third

im using 5 minute chapters and a menu generated by svcd2dvd

any ideas?

my guess would be.. not so correct input mpg files. try demuxing and remuxing them with tempgenc and try again. Or try to make it without chapters and see how that goes.

tried the without chapters thing - seems it is my dvd player, although i thought this played anything - I have a datawrite and it's played anything i threw at it up to now.

my mates just tried it in hers and its fine - might want to find a workaround to this though - what it actually does is:

starts at 1 second in and doesnt count any further - then jusy loops that one second of play

if i press 'goto' and move the film to say 5 seconds in as the start it plays fine all the way through.

Might be a good idea to do a fix wherby the film starts 5 seconds in from the menu.

I wanted to try authoring with tmpgenc dvd author but it wont accept the files as dvd standard - any idea what im dojng worong here? - i leave it set as standard for svcd2dvd to author - but the resultant mpg files are not accepted in tmpgenc dvd author.

suggestions please - cos i think its the suthoring bit thats doing it
