I am trying to encode a 700mb DivX movie onto a DVD using Tmpgenc, it gets to 50% (after about 3 hours) then just freezes. I ran the DivX file through VirtualDub as recommended in some other posts, but no errors found. I am only trying to extract the video, audio has already been stripped off as a wav. Can anyone throw me some suggestions, this is my 1st attempt ever at all this lark, so I'm probably being a bit thick !

I've seem some odd behavior, usually with the Xvid codec.
So, what i do is open the video in Virtualdub, and frameserve to Tmpgenc.
File>Start Frame Server>
Use default name for "frameserver name", hit start, save temp file as, say, temp.avi. Point tmpgenc to the temp.avi file, and encode.
