  1. I'm gonna start encoding momentarily to DVD.... i have a small 352x240 film that i want to convert to dvd... what produces better results, using vdub's resize filter with bicubic (and is .60 the best ?) or should I just let tmpgenc change the size for me to 720x480? thanx.

    Neither. Do not change the size of a legal DVD resolution.
    Hello.

  3. You can't improve quality by enlarging frame size. The only thing you will obtain is a loss of information. Once 352x240 is already a DVD compliant resolution, why don't you mantain it? Maybe you will have to convert audio to 48kHz.

    I'm curious too.. which one is best (or for which purpose) the:

    * 0.75
    * 0.60
    * 1.00

    I noticed that these numbers are not sorted, as in priority level or something

    Don't know what advantage to using the others are for though.
    Any advice would be welcomed

    FWIW, I've ben using the 0.75 as my param.

    I will agree to that. No point in wasting time and bitrate.

    Now, if the original resolution is "DVD-Illegal", for long movies I would chose VirtualDUB to do the job. Can't say that it's better - Tmpgenc produces good quality - but is very slow.

    For small clips, it's much simpler to let Tmpgenc to the whole work.
    The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
