    HI,
i got the philips dvdr70 recorder a few weeks ago now, i cant find in the operation manual anything about which regional the discs that in record will be in. i assume that since i am in the uk and i have not made my machine regional free, it will be recording in region 2? am i right or am i wrong?
also if i made my recorder regional free would it then be recording in region 0? has anybody had any problems after making this machine regional free?
lastly i use dvd decryptor to rip the dvd+rw that i make and burn them onto dvd+r discs, is there a section in decryptor that allows that dvd+r disc that i make to be region 0? if so where is it, i cant find anything like that on the program.
    any answers appreciated.

  2. Open your DVD in DVD Decrypter and you should see region if there is any.

I do not think that DVD Recorders create one region only discs. They should be All (0).

Report back what does it say in DVD Decrypter.

It will record PAL - Region 0
I had my 985 in the U.S. - it recorded NTSC Region 0
Now I have it in Germany - it records PAL Region 0

If you do however record something (say a non-protected DVD) that is an NTSC "item"....it will record in NTSC.

Whatever the input signal is....that is what you will get....only your new recording will be Region Free.

    stone me!
i put my disc in dvd decryptor, ive never really looked too hard at the front part of the app since normally i just select iso mode and select destination and then click the decrypt button, but right there in front of me is the region information of the disc i just created on my philips dvdr70 recorder. it says the disc is region 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. thats great thanks guys and sorry for being as blind as a bat!
