How to set the regional code for Philips DVP3146

I just baught a DVD player DVP3146, and... arght.... it doesnt play my DVDs due to "incorrect region" which is strange as i want to play DVDs from the same region as where i baught the DVD player.

Does any one know how to set the region? i want this player for Region 2 (please clear step by step explanation would be greatly appreciated!!).

I have checked the dvdhacks, it all sounds super easy:
It mentions to: leave tray open (OK) to press setup on remote control (OK) then to go to "Preferences": (PROBLEM) i dont have the option "preferences"; i only have the options Language; Video; Audio; Rating; Misc

Can someone help me, please?

Two of the hacks in the links Midzuki provided don't require you to go into Preferences. Have you tried those?

I only have the DVP642, not the 3146, but I'm assuming the behavior/menus isn't that far removed. Do you have a System - Menu button on your remote, and if you do - when you push it, does a window come up with 'Preference(s)' as an option?
