  1. help im confused!!!!Could anyone tell me which is the best way to have my dvd burner and my dvd rom for ripping/copy on the fly?Ive got 2 ide connections on the mboard 1 with my hard drive set to master and my dvd rom set to slave and 1 with my burner,but if i rip with my rom it fails every time where as if i use the burner to rip it only does about 6 speed!?ive got a lite on 16x rom a pioneer 105 burner and im using dvd decrypter and smartripper on xp,the drive is 80gb 7200rpm and formated to ntfs.Any help would be appreciated!

  2. Just to clarify things i want to know if the setup ive got is correct or do i have to put the ide connections in a differant config??

    If you have only 3 ide devices, I would have the boot drive as master and no slave on that channel. The second channel would have the DVD-ROM as master and the DVD burner as slave. The idea is to keep your boot drive from being slowed down by a CD or DVD drive. Sometimes the DVD burners don't like being slaves, so you might have to expirement. I don't know if this is the best way, but it works for me.
