    Hi,
I have download a number of movies in the AVI file format. Some have converted into MPEG with TMPGEnc OK, Other have converted with AVI2VCD using the Audio decompresser but about 10 refuse to be converted. An error message says "Can not open or unsupported"
The downloads are (DVD Rip-Divx).avi format.
All thes movies play on Windows Media player and the Divx Player.
    Can any help???
    Eric

Holy fu*k ......I had an answer but that just sent my brain into a spin.

  4. more than likely you do not have the correct codecs on your system to do the conversion. Do a search for xvid codec either here or on google and download that codec. Also, download the divx codec pack. Then you should be able to do your conversion.

you may also want to try dvd2svcd with the avi template to vcd.
