I have 11 video files encoded as "DivX3.11 Low Motion" files.
I batch encoded them using TMPGenc as MPEG-1 352-240 2-pass VBR 300/2400/8000. Video only Elementary Stream. But when I analyze the encoded files using VDub it states they range anywhere from 1644Kbps-2134Kbps (varies from file to file). This is NOT what I asked for. (It almost seems like it is using CQ mode.. But it is NOT selected)
I would do them as CBR but the quality is so terrible on them to begin with I am trying to preserve every possible bit in the right place.
No, I cannot try using CCE to do this, as I do not have $2000 to spend, or however much it is. And I have never had a problem like this with TMPGenc before.
Would I get more consistent results by first extracting the Video and saving it out as a pure uncompressed AVI then encoding? Could this be that I am running an older version of TMPGEnc? (TMPGEnc-2.510.49.157-Free)
Are there any free to try encoders out there (that don't leave a watermark tag) that offer similar quality and options as TMPGenc?
EDIT: How about encoding in CQ and overshoot my goal, then Transcoding with DVD Shrink? or DVD2ONE or whatever...(Would this just totally degredate the quality?)
EDIT: Perhaps I'll just follow the guide here https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/91597.php and use a CBR of 2400. Apparently by converting to a VCD Resolution I'm just adding more room for my vid file to look like crap.
