I'm using TMPGenc 12f and 12h to convert captured video to VCD and SVCD. But every file i made has a audio sync problem, i noticed that the difference is bigger on a SVCD than on a VCD. All my files are in sync before converting t with TMPGenc, i even tryed to convert to SVCD with a seperate video and WAV-audio file (with the same result).

I'm using: Win2000, adobe premiere 6.0, Avisynth plug in.
    My system: Pentium III 1Ghz, 256Mb Sdram, 1 system harddisk (FAT32) 5400rpm 20Gb, 1 video harddisk (NTFS) 7200rpm 40Gb.

Who can help me, to get rid of the problem?

  2. #1 - This is a common thing with TMPG - you need to demux the mpg file and remux with bbMPEG. Instructions are at http://www.doom9.net, look under 'The Guides', then 'VCD&SVCD Guides', then 'DVD2AVI', then 'TMPG', and FINALLY scroll down to 'Step 8'.

#2 - Are you going to use them in a standalone player or just on the PC. The reason I ask is, I've noticed they can play out of sync on the computer, but the same file burned to CD on my standalone can be in perfect sync. And vice-versa. If you're using a standalone, MAKE SURE you burn it and try it before you decide its async - thats why God created CD-RW's

Lots of work for just a simple videofile, isn't there a simple quick way?. And yes i'm using the SVCD in my stand-alone LENCO dvd-player, and there the audio sync problem is the same.

  4. Its actually VERY little work. After you've done it a couple times, it literally takes only a minute or two.

I'm still not satisfied, your reply makes me feel that everybody who's using TMPGenc do have AV-sync problems. If that's so, i find the amount of reply's too low.

There must be someone outthere who's system is working fine with premiere 6.0 and WIN2000.

    Let's hear.

I have used TMPGE with both PAL and NTSC for SVCD creation and not had any sinc problems except when converting from WMV/ASF8 files. I am converting two 40 minute TV programs at presentfrom ASF to AVI to MPEG2. They appear in sinc at the AVI level so it will be interesting to see what the SVCDs are like on a stand alone player

  7. I've been having similar problems with audio sync and TMPGEnc recently off-and-on. It doesn't seem to happen with everything I try to encode, and sometimes it doesn't loose sync until halfway through the clip. I don't have a solution to offer, but I'd like to hear if anyone else has one... I'm thinking of ditching TMPGEnc and trying something else.
