I understand that when encoding--as opposed to transcoding--that multiple passes of the material produces better video quality. DVD Shrink 3.0 beta 5 is my transcoder of choice. I often use "deep analysis" to improve the quality. My questions is has anyone thought about or tried running deep analysis multiple times to further improve quality? Can this be done? Does it work?
You create your own reality. Interested in media servers and HTPC? Can we talk?

I believe the process works like this:

    1. Analysis when you first start up looks at every 100 th frame for information.

    2. DEEP Analysis looks at EVERY FRAME.

So you only need to do this once.

  3. Also, I do not know how you could force DVDShrink to perform the DEEP ANALYSIS more than once. Unless you were meaning to have the program modified to do this.

deep analyzing it more than once will not make a difference I dont think since it is looking at all frames already. No way to force dvdshrink to deep analyze more than once without program modification.

  5. "Deep Analysis: how and why", in dvdshrink's own words.
