  1. I've just bought an Alba 108 dvd player but to be honest i'm totally clueless when it comes to dvd's.
I've read about the hacking codes but i can't seem to get any copies to work.
However i'm not sure if its because the copies are dodgy.
Correct me if i'm wrong here guys.
I've downloaded some movies from imesh but i need to download a dvd burning software. Right.
erm maybe i'll stop here can someone just email me or something and let me know what to do.

Let's see.. do you own a DVD burner? I guess that'd be the first question. :c)

As far as hacking - look up your player on the lefthand side - DVDPlayers. See if other owners have posted hacks in the comments section.

You need to provide a lot more info about what you are trying to do for someone to be able to help you.

Download copies? Copies of what? Sorry, but you are not being very clear at all with what you're asking.

  5. If you are asking how to get illegally obtained movies ffrom your PC to your DVD player then I am sorry, we don't discuss illegal activities here, it is against forum rules and can earn you a formal warning (yellow card) or even a ban. If you want to know how to Back Up legally purchased DVD's or capture leaglly purchased VHS video, then please make it clear exactly what you are trying to do.

BTW, DVD player hacks are not usually (ever?) required in order to play properly produced DVD backups or home movies.

DVD player hacks are usually to make the player region free and in some cases remove macrovision protection.

Unless you downloaded somthing that was 4.3 GB, it's not DVD. If it's a 1 CDR AVI, throw it away.

What you need to do is read the guides. There are numorous guides for AVI2DVD. You can do it with all freeware apps initially (TMPGEnc has a 3 day free trial, if you like it, buy it!).

    The basics include:
    1) Check source for errors
    2) Strip out sound
    3) Encode Video to DVD spec
    4) Encode Audio to DVD Spec
    5) Author the DVD (that's a function/program, not just a general step)

Does your DVD player support burnt DVDR's?
