  1. i'm new to using these video capturing equipments.. i'm using dazzle dvc100..

i captured two videos from vhs, each being 37 minutes long, as vcd format. i used nero to burn it as a vcd, but it gave me an error before the burning process started. it stated that the error is some kind of encoding problem. there were two errors, one being no sound. it said i can choose the option to re-encode it and i chose that one. after the disc was completed with burning, i played it on my stand-alone dvd player. both captures were able to play seemelessly, but there was no audio. i tried it play that disc on my pc dvd player, but it didn't have audo either. however, the mpgs that were orig captures on my hdd had audio.

i tried using moviestar 5's produce feature to burn it, but i don't understand how to do it..

    pls help! thanks..

How did you format your video for Nero to burn it? Did you use Nero's encoder, or another?
    Hello.

  5. it was captured using dazzle dvc100 with the software "moviestar 5." then i opened nero 5 and select create video cd. i dragged the two captures from the file browser over to the video cd screen.. when it started the initialization, it gave the following error message:

Notice it showed cap002.mpg... after i choose re-encode or cancel, it will start transferring cap001.mpg and give me the exact error message..

    ----------
The file 'G:\cap002.mpg' is not a valid file for creating a standard Video CD V2.0 (CD-I player) disc. A compliant video file requires the following specifications:

MPEG-1 which was encoded for Video CD:
    audio: 44.1kHz; stereo; 224 Kbits/s
    video: 352 x 240/29.97Hz or 352 x 240/23.976Hz or 352 x 288/25Hz

    The follwoing problems were found:
-stream encoding which is invalid for a [Super] Video CD
    -no audio

How would you like to continue?

Turn off standard compliance and continue
    Re-encode the video file
    Cancel
    ----------

i chose to re-encode the video file.. it did all the work and started the recording process. but there was no audio..

I would say take the captured video load it into TMPGEnc, select the VCD template, and encode it into a VCD file. Now use a program like VCDEasy to burn your VCD.

I would say the captured file has no audio or Nero doesn't like the audio format
Look around in the Capture program and see what there is about audio.
    Maybe it is turned off

Open the MPG file with Windows Media Player and see if it has audio.

Get AVIcodec and see what it says about the audio in your MPG file

  8. the captured files does have audio cause i played it before buring it to cd. however the burned ones doesn't have audio regardless if i played it on a stand-alone or on win media player.

what should i look for in the capture software? do i still have to since the captured files have audio before burning.

Try avicodec on it to see what it says.
Maybe the audio is not 44100. I don't know if Nero will fix audio.

Open it in Vdub and get file info

  10. i tried using nero5 again. i selected vcd format and went thru the tabs. under the vcd tab, there are two checkboxes in the middle "create standard compliant cd" and "use cd-i application."

because last time when i used nero5 to burn the captured videos, there was no audio. in that error message, it said that it's not a valid standard vcd format. so this time i unchecked "standard compliant cd" and kept "use cd-i application" checked. when i was transferring the two mpgs, there was no error message. however, the two files wouldn't fit into one 700mb cd-r. why is it that when i checked standard compliant cd, it fit. but now that i unchecked it, it doesn't fit?
