Hello again everyone,
I was having problems with some of my movies getting pixelation towards the end of the movie on Verbatim DVD-R media, and would like to know if re-recording them to Ritek G04's would solve my problem? The movies have no trouble in my PC's drive, only in my Toshiba SD-2800 set top. Is this a waste of time and money, or should I at least try one? Oh btw my Plextor PX-708A seems to see the Riteks disc just fine although I have not recorded anything to them yet (in case anyone was wondering about that media and drive). Thanks for any help!

No, that will work fine. You probably got a lot of those CMC crap Verbatim's....although a small percentage of MMC disks were also bad for some reason. The problem is your media..so hopefully you can still rip your movies. If you can..rip them in .ISO mode to your HD ...then burn them to your Ritek's....you shoudln't have any pixelation issues with those disks.

I have heard several times in these forums, that you can play it fine in your desktop, but not in a DVD player.
What speed did you use? Try a lower speed, like 1x or 2.4x. -
I did this from Optodisks to Riteks without any problem. The Optodisks didn't play well at all but I was able to rip them and reburn onto Ritek and they play flawlessly.
