  1. Useing all the guides I can find to learn Maestro.
Here' the process I took to ge to Maestro:
    1). DV/AVI File
    2). Edited with Adobe Premiere
3). Encoded with CCE (now have a *.MPV & MPA)
    4). Converted *.MPA to AC3 with Bsweet 1.4 useing this command sequence: ("C:\beSweet\BeSweet.exe" -core( -input "e:My Video.mpa" -output "e:My Video.ac3" ) -azid( -n1 -s surround -c normal -L -3db --maximize ) -ssrc( --rate 48000 ) -ac3enc( -b 256 )
5). Created Background for buttons on Photoshop
6). Imported all my "Assets" into Maestro

I compiled the project and got no errors. Made 3 partial coasters (Menu's and Video work perfect, but now sound on PC or Apex AD 1500)

Found out from searching the forums that I could use Power DVD to view the Video_TS file and preview the project (tried that and I get a suped up version of my DVD - it flies through the menu's and speeds up the Video)
But still now sound, I even put a Winamp plugin to play AC3 files just to test them - they do play fine.

I just can't figure out what I missed - I even tried to Sync them in Maestro even though they didn't need to be and "Locked" them as well.

I'm stumped, any one out there walked this path and figured out the way?
    TIA

This looks very similar to what I faced couple of weeks back. See my
    post https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=174063&highlight=

Well, I didn't get any answer for that though

I guess it is something to do with BeSweet.

  3. Well now I see that I'm not alone, are we both stranded?
Did you figure out an fix, or did you just give up, I I wondering if I should just try to the audio with another application. Any help or insight would be appreciated.

I tried for some time but now kind of gave up. The only free tool I know to
convert to AC3 is BeSweet and it didn't work for me. I have XP SP1.
Other seem to have good success with it. Until I can find another free
tool... I put it as a back burner.

  5. Well you can author your DVD with the mpeg audio (mpa) that you got from CCE. Maestro will give you a warning when you compile the DVD that your audio is not to the standard NTSC specification, but just ignore that and it will compile it anyway. Many if not most DVD players will play mpeg audio.

CCE is also capable of outputing .wav audio. Because this is uncompressed audio, it takes up more disc space. But this audio format is part of the NTSC specification and should play on any DVD player.

And you might try outputting .wav and then converting that to AC3 with Besweet, which is the preferred procedure. Mpa to AC3 involves going from a compressed format to a compressed format and increases your chances of something going wrong. I now use commercial programs for encoding AC3, but I used to use Besweet and it worked.

  6. Well funny that should mention this, I just did exactly that Last night (used the MPA's instead) and previewd the Movie in Power DVD and low and behold I had sound, and the Super speedup that Power DVD did in my previews stopped too. I was wonding if I should go the PCM route just to ensure DVD compliance and play back (mainly on Sony DVD players)

Well to add to the discussion, i think the problem lies with BeSweet, i too had problems when using it to convert my Audio to ac3.

When imported into DVD Maestro the sound would very, very, very, low or there would be no sound at all.

So as i only do TV captures now, i just keep my audio in mp2 format.

    Works 100% everytime.
