    Hello,

I have the new ASUS TV FM card and can capture from TV ok but when I try to cap from my VCR this happens:

    - Status bar says "Status 411: Press escape to end the capture
    - I press escape
    - Error message: "Warning: No frames captured. Make sure your capture card is functioning correclty and that a valid video source is connected. You might also try turning off overlay, reducing the image size, or reducing the image depth to 24 or 16-bit."

I can see and hear the video ok.

    I cap with virtualdub/huffy

I've tried changing lots of setting and can't seem to get anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Are both the TV and VCR connected to your PC the same way?

They are connected to different inputs on the ASUS card. The VCR is connected an adapter with video and audio L/R inputs and 1 output which goes into the card. The TV cable connects directly to a different input on the card.

I was hoping for a little more information. Are you using SCART, RCA, S-video, what connectors do you call "connectors"? If you are capturing in S-video, have you set your settings as such? Or if it is RCA inputs are your settings set for composite? Throw us a bone here. Tgpo does not come on till later tonight, and he is clairvoyant, I however, am not.
    Hello.

Do the correct drivers show up in the Video menu, and how do you select capture, from the keyboard or menu?

I made a mistake earlier, I meant to say I cap in composite.

Do the correct drivers show up in the Video menu?
The only 1 I have is Mircrosoft WDM Image Capture (win 32)

How do you select capture, from the keyboard or menu?
    I've tried both

  9. 8) you have connected the vcr to the outputs on your card. the tv and vcr should share the same input sockets.

Or try turning off hardware acceleration on your video card.

You have to select Line Input instead of RF Input.

Also, Macrovision will mess up anything copyprotected from your VCR. Try a tape you made yourself and see if this narrows down the problem.
