  1. Hi, this question has little to do with vcd or movie-dvd's.

I've just purchased a dvd writer and want to archive some important information on dvd's(photograph's, documents, exell files). I'm using nero 6.0 but in this program you have the chose to burn a dvd with ISO,UDF a UDF/bridge.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of these types? For archiving, which should i choose and why?

Thanks in advance for any answers, links or advice.

    Flood.

  2. The easiest would be to format a DVDRW and use it like a floppy Just copy and paste and erase individually if need to.Nero can do that. You can also compress your file first with winzip or any zip program then transfer. You can also do backup with most backup programs directly to DVD although it's more complicated.

    What DVD writer?
For archival purposes, I use, and recommend DVD-RAM.

  4. It wont make a lot of difference. ISO is an older format, UDF is a newer more universail (ie Mac too) format made for DVD discs.

Your best bet would be to use UDF/ISO, Id steer clear of just UDF at the moment coz it wont be able to be read by older operating systems..(ie early Win98, Win95)
