    I've been using Easy Video Joiner to do that. It supports avi, mpeg, real media, wmv and asf. Simple and easy to use. Has a free trial and only costs $20 to purchase.

    Windows Movie Maker will do it, just import the two videos (File->Import into Collections). Then on the bottom frame click show Story Board button if it's not already in Story Board. Drag the first clip into the first frame of the story board, & the second clip into the second frame (and so on) then click file Save Movie File. That's it
