Hello,
I just bought the NEC ND 1300A "bare drive" DVD burner from AVlogic. I guess "bare drive" means no software included, so I was wondering where I could find a driver for this burner. I searched the NEC website, and did a Google search for "NEC ND 1300A + driver" which came up with no driver install. So here are my questions:
1)Do I need to install a "driver" for this writer, and if so, where can I find one?
2) Or, can I just install DVD burning software (in place of a driver), and which one would you reccomend?
As you can tell, I'm a total "newbie" so any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

heres a little advice to start
don't crosspost like this (same topic, in another forum). No one likes cross-posts, cause someone will eventually get to your problem, just gotta wait and be a bit patient. -
I have the same drive and I was successfull and installing it without the driver disk. It's not needed. On another note, my Nero 5.5 would not recognize the drive until I downloaded the free upgrade from their site. Overall, this drive is great. I haven't had any problems. Just don't use cheap disks or expect skipping.

Yeah, thats the thing about this drive, it's a media snob. Just get high quality media (Ritek, BeAll, Maxell) and you should be fine. I use RecordNow Max 4.5 to burn all of my dvds, so if you don't like Nero, you can give that a try.
