  1. Hey everyone. I think I am in the market for a camcorder but I am not sure which one. I know I want it to be a digital camcorder because of the superior quality and what not. However, I do not know how often I would use it. I would use it alot when I am back home with friends but during school the only time I would really use it is for transfering tapes and stuff to the computer.

Now.....can a decent one be bought for around 300-400? I would like a good one that has firewire and can play back analog tapes because that is what I have the most of right now. Any help is appreciated.

Also should I just save my money and wait? Is there something around the corner that will be better then a normal digital camcorder? Thanks for the suggestions.

Like you said, you dont know how often you'll be using it so I wouldnt recommend it. Didnt you want to save up for a sound system a while back?

Also, I have the JVC cam g_shocker suggested and its pretty good...even though I dont use it much. I only bought it because I got an awesome deal(100 bucks).

One of my really good friends's dad works for some big company and he's pretty high up the corporte chain so he gets new toys whenever he wants for free(SPOILED). He got the camera but didnt like it so I offered to pay him hundred bucks for it and got it(I dont think he knew the real price ). Anyway...unfortunately I've lost touch with him since we split up after high school but I'll be seeing him thanksgiving break...perhaps I'll start my own business 8)

As for getting you one...get your own rich friends :P

  9. Damn you Devanshu, this board is meant to help people and by you getting me that camera for 100 dollars would help me. :P :P

Anyways, he is so rich you could probably just walk into his house and take his new camera assuming he got one and he wouldnt even know....hahahaha.

Anyways, thanks for the reply everyone. Looks like I will have to wait till Christmas to see if Santa brings me any goodies
