I can't believe the amount of time I have wasted trying to find the best one-stop encoding software to prepare my clips for authoring, when all I had to do was use TMPGEnc all along.
one day, while perusing this forum, and wondering what was all the fuss about TMPGEnc, I decided to see why i didn't have it-- thinking to myself, "well, i must have tried it, otherwise i wouldn't constantly frustrate myself with the other programs!".
I thought for sure that the reason I wasn't already using TMPGEnc, was that it must have been one of the un-user friendly programs that i had installed in my quest for the answer, only to find that the GUI in the other programs were confusing, and proposed too many options for me, the uneducated user. I used to go back and forth between WinMPG Convert, Blaze Media, to V-Dub, etc. most of which are actually more difficult to execute a batch encode than TMPGEnc. I looked through my "d/l program install files" folder, and behold! This is what i have been looking for!!
now i know why asking questions about encoding in nero sound so silly. all anyone has to do is at least try TMPGEnc a few times and they will never look back. the video quality is Considerably better than any other encoding program i have ever used in nearly 10 months of VCD authoring.

sometimes concentrating on one program is better, you get to know its foibles and quirks. switching around to the next flashiest model is doomed to failure and will always end in divorce. (or is that something else)
