sure you can do it pretty easy -- but to what end ? you are not going to get any better quality

You should post your questions before you drink your six-pack,
    not after.

  6. Actually this is an interesting topic. The AC3 has compression as compared to the LPCM that most DVD Authoring tool utilize. I would love to know how to convert it to an AC3 stream. I have been reading the besweat and think this is the avenue to go.

  7. Is it too much to ask for you to use proper grammar? It's hard enough to answer your question when you can't exactly specify what you want, but even worse when I have to decode your cryptic "english". And you can probably find your shift key too if you look hard enough for it (hint: there are two of them).

its quit easy to do, but i wouldnt bother with the beesweet rout i tryed that and it didnt work, get a little program called soft encode 5.1, its very easy to use and itll give real 5.1 were as i dont think beesweet can do that, it only gives you 2 channel audio.

  9. silk purse sows ear // You CANT make 5.1 sound from stereo.. you can fool around and re-encode all you want .. its still stereo coming from 6 speakers instead of 2.

its still only 2 channels .. just that they will be coming out everywhere -- most receivers do a better job of simulated surround .

im alittl bit pisapointed to hear that, as i realy thought it was the real deal surround sound, as the Dolby Digital light comes on, on my dvd palyer, and it comes on, on my recevier. also somtimes i have to use dvd2one to transcode my movies down when ive add the ac3, and dvd20ne also picks it up as dolby digital.

dolby digital can be 1 , 2 mono , 2 channel stereo, 3 channel stereo, 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 channels .. no mater what - if it wasnt mixed in surround (or recorded) , it isnt surround, you can simulate it by using delays on the rear channels and such .. but just becuase its dolby (or dts) doesnt mean its true surround ..

re-encoding dolby or any compressed format will cause quality loss .. its better to use the orig. 2ch and use the receiver to simulate surround (if desired)
