  1. Hello everybody out there!

I'm from Germany and planing to buy a LS 35 in the US. But I have two questions, for which I can't find a answer :

    1) Is the power supply for the LS 35 (as sold in the US) switchable between 110V and 230V?

    2) Does the LS 35 (as sold in the US) play PAL as well as NTSC DVD's?

Sombody told me so, but I would like to have some confirmation. The main reason why i'm planing to buy the LS 35 in the US is the european market price of aproxmately 5000 € (which is today 6000$) !

    Thank you for any help!

i went over and looked at the system in one of rooms (same system) , owners guide says 120v 50/60hz but back of speakers and control unit says 120-220v 50/60HZ , but the fuse is for 120v and you would have to change it ..

it will play region 1 disks only (maybe there is a way to make it region free)..

    it does not play svcd's

this one played PAL disks - outputing PAL

  3. Tilly,

Do yourself a favor, and pass on this system. You can buy twice the system and features for 1/2 the price of this unit.

Not trying to be a "bose-basher". Their LifeStyle systems do offer some perks:

1.) Easy to use, if you can use a phone, you can use this.
    2.) Easy to set-up.
3.) Easy on the eyes; you can live with it in your home.

But, the asking price does not justify the lack of features.

    1.) No progressive scan.
2.) Picky about formats. (VCD, SVCD, CVD)
3.) No way to upgrade. Its all one unit. If your dvd drive breaks, you lose your system as it goes off to be fixed.

  6. please for the love of God and all things precious, do not buy a bose. You can get a ton of equipment for the same or less money that perform sooo much better. It is a very good marketing ploy.

Anyway, good luck with your search.
