I have two hard drives, and since I will format everything and reinstall windows, I would like to do some changes to improve the performance of my captures (mainly to avoid dropped frames).

My first HD have 40gb 7200rpm, that is primary master. The second HD have 20gb 5400rpm, that is slave. I'm thinking to use the 7200rpm hard drive as dedicated hard drive for capturing, and install all the programs and OS on second HD. How it sounds ? Should I change something like, primary, secondary, slave connections too ?

  2. Make the 20gb the master and install your operating system on that, and make the 40 gb a slave and use it to capture on.
