  1. Two Stupid questions:

One, what program would you suggest to use when backing up my very expensive classic DVD's?

Two is a little more complexed - I have several DVD's from America that play only on Zone 1 DVD players. I now live in Europe and my stand alone is a Zone 2 player. I would like to view my Zone 1 DVD's and the only way I can view them now is with my computers DVD-ROM player, not fun! Is there a way to back up my DVD's and take off the Zone protection?

Thanks for any insight to these questions

    Lots of choices : https://www.videohelp.com/tools#DVDtoDVD

Most let you set region-free or it is automatically region-free when you create your backup. I like DVDShrink. It has that option.

Another option is to see if there's a hack available for your player. Check the Player database and see if you model is listed and if so, someone may have entered the hack in the comments section.
    There's no place like 127.0.0.1
The Rogue Pixel: Pixels are like elephants. Every once in a while one of them will go nuts.

I agree with Gees, DVD Shrink 3.0 will remove any/all region and encryption settings when ripping. I think DVD Decrypter does it too, but I'm not too sure.

DVD Decrypter does if you ask it to.

So does DVD Region Free, DVD Shrink, Smart Ripper, AnyDVD, etc.
