  2. Cant tell you about the Akura but if £37 is your budget then get down to Comet and buy a Proline DVD1040 for £37-90p. This unit would play a slice of toast if you burned it. Check the dvd player reports on this site if you dont believe me. I have 3 in various rooms at home.

  3. my local kwik save has taken them off the shelves,so i guess they dont do jack.i cant find a multi hack for it.
but i would say go for the asda specials on -
    pacific 1002W-new model,slightly modified remote.
    schneider 857-was £90-now £37.
or better still the LG DA5620 from currys and dixons, plays everything, and at £179,more than £200 off the recommended retail, its a snip.

Corned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.

  6. The best "cheap" player I've found is the Cyberhome 400 from WH Smith at £50. Picture quality is excellent (better than many a Sony) it's smaller than an A4 sheet of paper, and it'll play anything including photo CD's and raw MPEG files. Oh and avoid anything with Toshiba written on it!
