  1. Looking on EBAY the other day and came across a complete set of DVD's from a old TV show .They are only available as a complete set as Region 2 Pal .I live in North America region 1 and NTSC and REALLY want this complete set how can I convert Pal to NTSC . What type of software to use????? .What to do and use ??? .already know how to back up DVD movies so thats no proplem

    then do searches here on "Pal to NTSC"

    as Baldrick said (in the above thread), it will require converting and reauthoring. A whole different ballgame than backing up.

  4. In my humble opinion, it just not worth neither the time nor effort involved converting these dvds. Go the cheaper route: find a dvd player with GOOD pal conversion. Some dvd players will play PAL, but sometimes it might look a bit 'off'.

    I have a toshiba sd 3900 and it plays everydamnthing under the sun. Anamorphic widescreen conversion is EXCELLENT.

    Don't bother with the whole conversion process as you most undoubtedly will become extremely frustrated as many before you have!
