  1. Hi All,

    I've edited my mega epic and all set to authour to dvd using
    Ulead DVD Moviefactory 2.

    I've set up chapters within the program (complete with thumbnails)
    and ticked the box so it creates the chapter menu.

    However, when I do the preview of the finished dvd (before burning)
    the chapter menu does not show up. The main menu has the icon I can click on to play the movie and a play button, but no button to click to the chapter menu.

    While the main movie is playing I can jump to the next chapter, so that part is working.

    Has anybody had this problem?

    Would like to get the chapter menu to show, before I do final burn to DVDr

    Cheers,
    ZollyMonsta

  2. I just did a test.

    1. I opened Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2;

    2. I ticked the NEW PROJECT option and selected DVD as the OUTPUT DISC FORMAT;

    3. I clicked the NEXT button;

    4. I clicked the ADD VIDEO button and browsed to the location of a single MPEG file with the following properties:

    NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
    MPEG files
    24 Bits, 704 x 480, 29.97 fps
    Field Order B
    (DVD-NTSC), 4 : 3
    Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8800 kbps)
    Audio data rate: 256 kbps
    MPEG audio layer 2, 48 KHz, Stereo

    5. I clicked the ADD/EDIT CHAPTERS button and marked three chapters in the file and clicked the OK button and then the NEXT button;

    6. I observed a drop-down list at the top of the interface with a MAIN MENU item followed by a second CHAPTER menu item;

    7. I configured my menu pages for both the MAIN and CHAPTER menus;

    8. I clicked the NEXT button and tested using the software DVD player;

    9. I ticked the RECORD TO DISC box and selected my Panasonic SW-9571 DVD drive and then clicked the second button from the left in the lower left corner of the interface (the button with the CHECK) to adjust my project settings to conform to the properties of my SOURCE files so that no re-encoding would occur;

    10. After clicking the button with the check, I clicked the CHANGE MPEG SETTINGS button and adjusted my project settings to conform to the properties of the SOURCE files;

    11. I then clicked OK and the OUTPUT button to burn the DVD-RW disc;

    12. The DVD-RW disc burned without re-encoding of the source material;

    13. I then placed the DVD-RW disc into my Apex AD-1100W player;

    13. I selected the thumbnail on the main menu, which led to the CHAPTER menu with thumbnails for each chapter;

    14. I selected each CHAPTER thumbnail and they played as expected.

    I am unable to reproduce the issue you have described.

  3. Also:

    The software DVD player works perfectly here to play the CHAPTERS.

    I suspect you have a system configuration issue or your software installation may have not been successful.

    Suggest uninstalling and re-installing the application.

  4. You may also wish to check to see if you have the latest update for Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 installed.

    Ulead posted a new one recently at the following link...
