Hello,

My DVD writer (NEC 1300A) seems to work most of the time, but some times when I write (most commonly a DVD-R movie) but the odd time also a collection of files the writing software crashes out near the end with an "Invalid Write State" message. This leaves the DVD disc unusable (title and contents appear to be correct but reading the DVD leads to a crash of the computer.

System: Intel P4 2.6GHz, Asus P5S533E, 1Gb Ram, Radeon 9700 Pro, 120GB Deskstar, NEC 1300A DVD-+RW, Lite-On 48x12x48, Lite-On DVD reader.
Operating System: Windows XP SP1 English
Tested writing software: Nero 5.5.10.0 and CopyToDVD 2.2.2.174

I am also running a firmware update allowing me to use Princo DVD-R discs in my NEC 1300A, but nearly all of the time it works... apart from these troublesome occasions. Once a write fails, it keeps failing (3-4 consecutive coasters), but writing another DVD movie or collection of files works. very odd and annoying.

Oh, one more thing. The simulations always work in Nero, yet this problem occurs in the write stage.

Any suggestions? I am not running any ASPI-layer stuff as I have read about in some posts.
