  1. I'm having a problem with a movie (Ronin) I "backed up" using DVD X Copy Xpress. When I play it on my standalone player, it gets jerky at the beginning of each chapter. The sound and video stutters. However, if I stop and restart the movie it plays fine until the next chapter. The disk is watchable, but it's annoying to have to stop and start it multiple times. All of my other "backed up" movies play fine.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks....

Not without more info. Have you changed media? Any other changes?

Did it play properly in PowerDVD or WinDVD before you burnt it to disk?

Did you test it on a RW first? If yes, did that play OK?

  3. Thanks for the reply. I'll check those things out. My guess is that perhaps there was something else going on with the computer that interfered in the authoring process. Maybe the drives weren't completely defragged, or I neglected to reboot before I wrote the disk.....

Good start. I also routinely shut down ALL running programs during a burn, Broadband, firewall, anti-virus, etc.

And you should get in the habit of first playing the files on the PC before burning (ie: write them to your harddrive- then burn from there after testing - not write to disc first). Helps you pinpoint the problem later.
