I'm trying to burn a 58:24 min show with iDVD3, which insists that my show is longer than 60 minutes and wants to downgrade the compression for a 90 min show.
Thinking maybe it's the mini frames for the chapter headings (13), I chose a titles only menu. Didn't make any difference.
Why does iDVD3 see a 59:24 min show as 60:30 min?
Any work arounds to get a decent, under 60 min. compression?

Okay. I understand overhead. How much overhead. Do I just subtract the difference, and then reduce the overall length of the film by that much? Is there some standard of 'time' required for the overhead?
I've been looking at iDVD help; it ain't particularly helpful...
Thanks for the help guys... -
Keep your movie around 55min and no more than 58mins to keep within the 60min compression, but this does all depend on how many menus you have in your dvd, each menu adds to the space.

Thank you Bluefusion,
I did just that. I chopped it down to 57 something and iDVD3 swallowed it.
Another one of those million and one little things that will now sit taking up space in that hard drive between my ears ... maybe that's what reincarnation is all about -- reformatting drives... -
